Itinerary (tentative)

Friday is a travel day.

Saturday morning we will meet in front of the Mono Lake Committee Visitor Center at 9:00 A.M. We will spend the day around the shores of Mono lake and the nearby canyons. Saturday night is a sharing of participants photos. Bring prints or slides to share. I will bring a side projector to show slides and s flood for prints.

Mother nature is unpredictable about when and where she will display her fall colors; there's no guarantee fall colors will be good, but in any case there are many other things to photograph.

Sunday will also visit Bodie Ghost Town, abandoned ranches, Goat Ranch and other canyons.

Monday we may visit Rock Creek Canyon, Convict Lake, Hot Creek geothermal site, Laws Railroad museum and June Lake loop.

What To Bring

Bring your camera, film, batteries, tripod, etc. (detail photo equipment list); a towel if you plan on visiting the nearby hot springs. Bring your favorite photos to share one of the nights. (Allan will bring a slide projector and flood lamp.) Be prepared for chilly weather (high elevations), as well as sunshine. You'll find the Auto Club Guide to the Eastern Sierras and California maps useful. We will be using Family Radio Service (FRS) channel 7 code 14 to communicate on the caravans, bring them if you can.

Most cell phones work in the area except T-mobile.
