File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
is one way to move files from computer to server.
Question: Why do I want to FTP when I can just
e-mail an attachment?
Answer: You can send an attachment but large
files can lock up many email clients. Some mail servers have
a limit to file sizes you can send (2 MB). Others may split the
file into many pieces that may be difficult to reassemble. Not
all emailers can speak the same attachment language. Very large
files can crash mail servers.
Question: What is the internet address of the
my FTP site?
Answer: ftp://ftp.allan-der.com/pub
Question: How do I FTP from Netscape Navigator
